Los días del 27 al 29 de junio se celebrará en la ciudad de Seattle (Washington, Estados Unidos) la Locus Awards Weekend, evento durante el cual se entregará el conocido premio Locus, uno de los más codiciados en el mundo de la fantasía y la ciencia ficción. El premio lleva entragándose desde el año 1971, y los ganadores se eligen por votación entre los lectores de la revista Locus Magazine.
Este año entre los nominados nos encontramos con algunos cuantos conocidos del mundo de la fantasía: George R. R. Martin (nominado en la categoría de mejor novela corta por su historia The princess and the queen, cuyo comienzo está traducido aquí), Joe Abercrombie (en la categoría de relato por Some desperado que podéis leer completo en inglés aquí) o Scott Lynch. Como curiosidad señalar que Stephen King y su hijo Joe Hill compiten en la misma categoría.
